  • The Civil War: A Newspaper Perspective

    This CD-ROM contains the full text of over 11,000 articles from over 2500 issues of both Northern and Southern newspapers published between Nov. 1, 1860 and Apr. 30, 1865. It includes over 700 graphic images of battlefield maps and illustrations.
  • Early American Newspapers Digital 1690-1876

    The database offers cover-to-cover reproductions of hundreds of historic newspapers, providing more than one million pages as fully text-searchable facsimile images. It is based largely on Clarence Brigham's History and Bibliography of American Newspapers, 1690-1820. The actual dates of coverage are more constrained as Readex is in the process of digitizing pages and updating the effective coverage of the product.

    This database is a full-text, interdisciplinary and bilingual (English and Spanish) collection of newspapers, magazines and journals from ethnic, minority and native presses. This database contains the retrospective backfile of Ethnic NewsWatch titles with coverage from 1960 through 1989. Currently, the database includes thirty-nine publications.

    Published in Philadelphia from 1728 through 1800, The Pennsylvania Gazette is considered The New York Times of the 18th century. Thousands of articles, editorials, letters, news items and advertisements give a detailed glimpse of issues and lifestyles of the times. Also included is the full-text of such important writings as: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, Letters from a Farmer, Thomas Payne's Common Sense, The Federalist Papers, etc.
  • The Performing Arts in Colonial American Newspapers
    Bobst REF1 Desk PN1581 .P47 1997 CD-ROM
    This CD-ROM contains references to music, poetry, dance, and theater found in American newspapers published from 1690 through 1783, including those in French and German. It offers full text citations, indexes of names, genres, subjects, titles, and first-lines of lyrics, a bibliography of issues, and a graphic file of woodcuts.
