Public Opinion Polls
- Eurobarometer
Eurobarometer polls are official European public opinion surveys which have been conducted since 1973 and are presently undertaken by the European Commission Directorate General 10. Interviews are carried out on behalf of particular DGs and EU institutions between two to five times a year with six monthly reports.
- European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research
The European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR) is recognized throughout the world as the leading organization for suppliers and users of market research. Membership in ESOMAR is open to all persons who are actively involved in, or concerned with, the science of marketing, and market and opinion research. The site includes information on how ESOMAR functions, details of events, membership, publications, and access to the ESOMAR directory of research organizations.
- ICM Research Poll Reviews
Description: The ICM site provides access to opinion polls from the Guardian, Scotsman and Evening Standard from 1997 to date. These include the results of political opinion polls showing the level of support of British political parties during the 2001 election campaigns and seat projections based on recent polls. They also include coverage of social issues such as support for the European Union.
- MORI Opinion Polls Archive
MORI is an international market and opinion research organization. Its web page contains the results of its recent surveys, many of which are related to political opinions. There are examples of specific subject areas, as well as a chronological listing of polls. The spectrum of subject areas for the polls is diverse, talking in such areas as attitudes towards Europe, education and voting intentions. The range of these polls covers most areas of society and tends to focus on the United Kingdom.
- Question Bank
Description: The Question Bank holds copies of questionnaires used in a number of major British social surveys. This resource is produced by the Centre for Applied Social Surveys (CASS) with the University of Surrey. All questionnaires are in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format and can be searched by topic or keyword.
- Your Voice In Europe
Description: Your Voice in Europe is an interactive citizen's site, which has been created by the European Commission to encourage public participation in EU politics. It includes news from the European Union, information on contacting officials and registering complaints, links to recent consultation documents covering all aspects of economic, social and political policy and information about recent opinion polls. The site also supports regular email discussion forums. Typical issues covered include: European Union enlargement, integration and the single European Currency. The site is offered in all the main languages of the EU- including English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
