Group Study Rooms
Group study rooms are located in Bobst Library in the:
- Brine Library Commons (Lower Levels 1 and 2);
- Business and Documents Reference Center (6th floor);
- 9th floor (Room 944) of Bobst Library.
Individual study rooms are located in the:
- Brine Library Commons (Lower Level 2);
- on the perimeter of Bobst Library on floors 4-10.
Group study rooms and the individual study rooms (LL2 only) may be reserved in advance for use by NYU students, staff and faculty.
General Policies
- Group study room priority usage is for groups of 2 or more people with proof of advance reservation. Group study room users without reservations must vacate the room when requested by a group with proof of valid reservation.
- Single users in a group study room (with or without reservations) will be asked to vacate the room for groups of 2 or more studying together.
- All other group study rooms may be used by groups of two or more when not in use by those with advance reservations.
- Individual study rooms on LL2 may be reserved in advance. Individual study room users without reservations must vacate the room when requested by a user with proof of a valid reservation.
- Personal materials and library books may NOT be left unattended in the group or individual study rooms while in class, for extended periods of time, or overnight.
- Materials and personal items left unattended for extended periods of time will be removed. Library books that are not checked out will be returned to the Stacks.
- Some group and individual study rooms are available for walk-in use .
Reserving a Group Study Room (Lower Levels, Floors 6 & 9)
- Reservations are accepted from NYU students, staff and faculty only.
- An NYU NetID is needed to complete the electronic reservation form (http://roomreserve.library.nyu.edu).
- Reservations for groups of two or more may be made:
- up to 14 days in advance
- for 2 hours maximum per day
- Groups with reservations must bring their email reservation confirmation form with them to the room.
- Group study room users without reservations must leave when requested by a group with proof of valid reservation.
- There is a ten-minute grace period for reservations. If the group (2 or more people) is not present within the grace period, the reservation is invalid, and another group may use the room.
- Rooms cannot be reserved or held by placing personal belongings in them. Unattended items will be removed.
Reserving an Individual Study Room (Lower Level 2)
- Reservations are accepted from NYU students, staff and faculty only.
- An NYU NetID is needed to complete the electronic reservation form (http://roomreserve.library.nyu.edu).
- Reservations may be made:
- up to 14 days in advance
- for 2 hours maximum per day
- Individuals with reservations must bring their email reservation confirmation form with them to the room.
- Individual study room users without reservations must leave when requested by a user with proof of a valid reservation.
- There is a ten-minute grace period for reservations. If the reservation holder is not present within the grace period, the reservation is invalid, and the room is available for use.
- Rooms cannot be reserved or held by placing personal belongings in them. Unattended items will be removed.

Individual Studies on Floors 4-10
